I've been experiencing a clinking noise from the motor under slightly heavier than normal acceleration in all gears. In the passed, the local dealer, Nassau HD/Buell in Bellmore, NY was able to fix the problem a few months ago. I'm not sure what they did but it fixed it. But after riding another 2500 miles, the noise is back. I believe they adjusted the primary chain the first time around. This time they decided to replace the primary cover. The noise kind of sounds like valves that are out of sync, but not exactly sure. They have had the bike for 2 weeks now. One and half of those 2 weeks was waiting for the part(s). I'm not sure if they ordered anything else.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Mike

Just found out yesterday from HD/Buell they ordered a clutch cable. I can kind of see how this might cause the noise experienced, but on the other hand, I have a feeling that it will not solve the problem. I'm not sure if I have confidence in them yet to assume that they checked the timing and possibly any end play in the crank. -Mike
