I recently installed a Dobeck Techlusion TFI unit on my 2006 XB12Ss. I had been unhappy (to put it mildly)with the throttle response at low speeds on the bike, which has about 1400 miles on it. I had purchased a D&D slip on with the bike, but did not install it at the time. The bike was running so lean stock that I didn't want to even try the D&D without doing something to solve the mixture problem.
I purchased the TFI after talking with an engineer (George) from Dobeck. I installed the unit on the stock bike. The installation went easily and the bike immediately ran better at low speeds, but it took a little tweaking to get the midrange right. Installation took about 2 hours. It could have been done faster, but I wanted to make sure that harness routing was just right and that all fasteners were properly locktited and torqued. Tuning took around 2 hours also. The TFI is set up as an electronic "jetting" kit, so if you have a good understanding of carburetors and how they work, you'll understand the TFI. If you don't, you could get lost really quick. The guys at Dobeck are friendly and will answer all your questions. They even have a forum for users.
I'm going to install the D&D today. The Dobeck guys said that the D&D was probably the worst choice as a match for the TFI because it does away with the two-way valve used by the stock pipe and has very little back pressure. Since all the TFI can do is enrichen the mixture it may not be able to help much at low rpm.
Anyway, I'll let everyone know how it goes.
Take care, -Bob

Got the D&D installed and the Techlusion handled the pipe with very little tweaking. Now that I've gotten the hang of how the unit works (it really does behave like jetting on a carburetor)I feel like I can modify the bike as I wish and not have to worry too much about the fuel injection. I'd highly recommend the unit.

You're one of VERY few.

I think that maybe one reason that some folks have a problem with the TFI is that they do not understand carburetor jetting. If you've never jetted a carb to handle exhaust and intake mods, you really would be lost.
Also, I have no way of knowing how the HP and Torque specs have been changed. There's no way of knowing that without dyno work. But, like most street riders I'm more concerned about response and sound quality than absolute power.
