OK, so I'm going to install the new ground from battery terminal to anti-vibe ground post ('06 XB12Ss), but I'm also looking for anything else untoward. This pic is a mini pry-bar lifting up what appears to be a wire(?) or whatever that appears to have been vibrating against the cylinder head and wearing away. The reddish color looks to be rust? Dang but it's hard getting down into that cavity beside the velocity stack! I need tiny hands. Anybody know what the heck that wire is?

I see no picture but this is probably rear cylinder temperature sensor wire. Or throttle position sensor wires.

Don't know why the pics didn't post previously. I slid a little square of roofing rubber, coated with high-temp silicone sealant, underneath the questionable looking wire section, and slathered on some more sealant over-top the wire/rubber section, and shut down for the night.

On 2009 Buell XB there is no wire in that area. Maybe somebody added ground wire from the battery to the steering neck.
