XB12 Lightning SS “choking”. Bike started choking, losing power and stalling. Progressively got worse to the point it wouldn’t move 5 ft. But then got on the highway and ran it home. Seemed to not have an issue. Intermittent but can’t figure it out. Has anyone encountered this issue? Link to a video of the bike running. Check engine light has always been on since an aftermarket exhaust was installed 10 years ago. Also has fuel when the issue started.

Check your battery posts for tightness.

10mm and snug.

Watched the video.

Check your ETS, rear cylinder "engine temperature sensor" for tightness and no fraying of power wire. Ground provided by tight sensor in rear cylinder head.

Same deal with my XB12Ss. Check out the 'grounding' posts http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/384 2/834493.html?1534482516. I'm going to try just the single heavy gauge ground to see if that might help. The cable is on order now.

I installed just the single heavy gauge ground strap from the battery to the anti-vibe ground post, and cleaned up connections at every other ground post I found, and applied a light coating of dielectric grease at all points. Hope I'm not jinxing myself, but so far so good!
