I am of need to get a new full face helmet. My old helmet was an HJC FG9. It's just a standard white helmet. I just want something quality that doe not open up three different ways and looking like I just stepped off a space ship. Thanks! |

I like the HJC helmets. They probably can't be beat for the price. DOT and SNELL approved. Some of the accessories don't come standard with the helmet (at least for the CL-16 that I'm wearing now) but they are available for cheap enough that adding up the price for the helmet plus the added accessories it's still cheaper than many other helmets in the category. Came standard with the pin-lock visor. I added a chin curtain (that's where I attach my ipod shuffle and it helps keep out the draft). I added an internal face mask for the very cold days, it completely covers the nose. I added a standard nose piece that it didn't come with. I like that it came with speaker pockets. Just remove the round pieces of foam under the liner and add helmet speakers. I don't know if the CL-17 has the speaker pockets. It's decently light and has pretty good aerodynamics. The bad is that the plastic visor lock wears down very easy since it's too hard to tell if it is locked or unlocked. It's available in a decent array of patterns from solid white to old-school tame, to I just got off of a space-ship loud. |

I have a Shoei full face helmet. I find it perfect for the shape of my head. |
