Took the Uly out, started just fine, got 500 feet from the house and it died like you turned the key off. nothing, dead. pushed it back home, took seat off shook stuff, battery cables were good and tight. then it restarted. took it back out rode fine for 15 miles, then again just electrical died. so bad the tach did not even reset to 0. I need ideas. Ignition? bad ecm. I dont know what Im looking for.

I haven't experienced or diagnosed that, but if it was happening to me, I would be starting with relays.

Easy to get to, easy to swap, cheap to replace, and nice to have a spare on hand anyway if it turns out to be some other problem.

That is a sudden loss of power, most likely a bad ground connection.

I will check that end of the ground when I get home. Thank you.

I had something very similar happen to me once. It turned out that one of the wires near the oil cooler was loose and chafing on the front jug and shorted to ground. I can't remember which wire it was, though.
