I purchased an EBR Race ECM, for my 2003 xb9r.

I have been pouring over tutorials and videos, using ECMspy.

So I install ECMspy on my labtop, go through a crap load of driver issues to get the cable to work.

So Before I installed the new ECM, I wanted to test the ECMspy.

The program looks nothing like the tutorials.

So The questions are

1) Can I do a reset of my TPS with ECMspy?

2) I saw a thread saying not to use ECMspy on an EBR ECM, is that true?

3) Is there a tutorial on how this is done with version 2.0?

Please assist, the closest Harley Davidson that will do the work in well over an hour away and they said they want me to leave the bike for days to do a 10 minute job.

First thing I need to mention is that there are two versions of ECMspy, there is the old version (1.12.x), which is free but has limited device compatibility, then there is the newer version (2.0+) that works on all bikes but can only be acquired by making a donation to a hospital.

One thing to note, the old free ECMspy cannot be used to reset the TPS on a EBR ECM, it does not support the firmware and causes issues as it changes the wrong parameters. I've not heard if the paid ECMspy will do it, but I do see the EBR ECMs listed as compatible on their website now.

Here are details on doing a TPS reset with 2.0 http://www.ecmspy.com/ug_mono/V2.0/liveandlogdata. shtml#tps-reset

Thank you,

I am familiar with this link. I looked at the supporting ECM's. While it DOES say EBR ECM's....it does not specifically say EBR for my year bike.

That's my concern.

I noticed the same. I honestly don't have an answer as to if it will work or not. All the times I've seen issues, it has been newer bikes, which have a different generation of fuel injection than your 03. It is very likely that EBR is using the same old firmware as the ECMs of yesteryear, but I don't know for sure.

Here is the best version to use when working with the DDFI-2 bikes.
