Since I have a 2007 fuel pump and a 2008 main wiring harness I needed to make a cross over connector.

The 2007 main wiring harness had a female connector with male pins. The lettering is located on the connector for the 2007. The wires had to shift from the 2008 connector to the 2007 connector. At least 3 out of 4 colors were still the same on both years.

Awesome, I need to do this same thing on my 09 Uly. I've had a little trouble with the fuel pump popping fuses in the past. It's happened enough that I'm always thinking about it in the back of my mind. Especially on hot days in traffic. I bought a used older pump that needs to be retro fitted to my 09. This would be far easier than splicing and soldering. Thanks!

Sharkguy, the older internal pump & pre-filter will go directly into the '09 assembly and is probably less work than swapping the assembly and making the adapter.
I was nearly cleaned up 3 times in traffic with the fuse popping at the absolute worst time and cried enough as well.
I couldn't get it changed under warranty as the damn thing always passed all tests when at the dealer and I replaced the internal pump with the older style with the larger inlet & pre-filter.

Rays, I may go that route. I didn't know that it would retro fit. But makes sense that it would. I bought a low mileage pump from an 07 firebolt. Yep, mine has popped three times. It's always been in traffic and understand the helpless feeling of barely escaping with your life as the bike dies at an intersection.

The 2004 to 2007 fuel pump and wiring harness use the Aptiv (formerly Delphi Packard) 4-pin (way, position, pole) Metri-Pack 150 series unsealed connector housing.

I had an extra 04-07 wiring harness so I cut the Metri-pack connector off of that to make the adapter wire.

They can be found online at Mouser Electronics:

The blue secondary lock, on the above connector, is from Aptiv Automotive Connectors and MFG part number 12047787.
