Check engine light came on bike continued to run OK. Took it to the HD Dealer and it had a history and current code 36 high amps cooling fan. The fan is toast and needs replaced. Question, what do I need to pull my own codes? I have the service manual, and enough tools and mechanical aptitude to get myself in trouble...

Sorry Xr ... I just saw this question as I was looking for info on replacing my cooling fan. I included a few links on the thread below that might be useful including the trouble code dongle from American Sport Bike. Good luck.
