Have just replaced gear selector shaft(involving dropping motor and removal of timing cover) after a fall only to find on start up new oil becomes dark within minutes(changed oil twice)Also engine is noisy. I suspect fuel in the oil, smells a bit that way.On initial start up A LOT of what appeared to be steam/condensation came out the exhaust for about 3mins.... Any clues??? Thank you in advance Regards Gary}

Sounds more like engine coolant in oil, which is bad trouble, could be as simple as head gasket or as bad as a cracked head. Either way it's fixable, but don't run it any more until you find the cause.

Either fuel or coolant, you will have higher oil line on dip stick if you have a leak.

Condensation is normal occurrence with an engine that hasen't been started in awhile.
