I bought a used 2001 buell blast and shortly after i had transmission problems. Thanks to this site i was able to go in and remove the burs from the shifter drum and forks. I then put the engine and transmission back together (in my apt dining room) but unfortunately found 2 mystery pieces under the make-shift stand the engine was on. I have talked to several mechanics including 1 that does the upkeep on a fleet of blasts for a training course. No one could tell me what they are.

the one part looks like it goes with your lifter, and the spring - on the primary side?

First thing i checked was the lifters they're both in and whole and someone suggested checking the clutch basket but neither could have come out of there either, and i've taken the engine comepletely apart again as far as it was originally and can't see anyplace they would go.

As much as this is buggin' me, I'm sure it's REALLY getting to you. I've looked at every pic I can find, through the manual and parts book.
I remember when I was first working on my M2, I got it all back together and found an odd bolt. Badweb finally concluded it was some kind of stray, I still have it, still don't know what it is.
Your parts sure look more important than a stray bolt.

If you took the shifter drum @ forks out, it's likely that you were overly concerned with removing those major parts and didn't notice these parts come out with them or they got left inside the case.

I would guess that these two parts are part of the centering device for returning the shift lever or the drum to its normal position after making a shift.

the shift lever has its own spring and its still there and the drum sits in different spots for each gear. And i was very concerned with the shifter thats how i know everything on it works the way it should lol.

Well, apparently they aren't important. I put the bike together without those parts and it runs beautifully. Big thanks to this site for helping me fix the initial problem.

That's great that it all seems to function!
I STILL want to know what those parts are though.

not to worry about what or were they belong, you will find out in a ride 200 miles from home in a driving rain with ice building up in the dark places. and you will be in a no cell area and 50 miles from any phone.

good luck.
