Hey guys, I have a problem with my buell blast, when ever I start it, it runs for a while, I ride it for about a mile or so and then it dies and wont start back up. the next day i start it and runs and the same problem ensues. well kept it in the garage for the winter didnt get a chance to even start it. so thought it was bad gas, maybe condensation got in there and so i emptied the gas tank and cleaned the fuel filter and then it started for a while and just when it was about to die i gave it some gas to keep it running, then i noticed that the exhaust was smoking and turned neon red very crazy looking. then i turned it off. any ideas?

I'm not a blast guy, but have heard blast owners talking about intake leaks around a seal somewhere... I bet that's your problem, and the red glow is from running lean.

(Don't do that again until you fix the problem... you are hurting things.)

Concur - Das Boot! - leaking intake coupler - very inexpensive, and easy to replace, and that is what needs to happen - lol - Welcome!

When you mentioned that the red glow was from it "running lean" what did you mean by that?

Carb getting too much air for the amount of fuel it can deliver - a lean burn - very hot - can do bad things to a motor, and the bikes come very lean from the factory for EPA reasons. Has the carb been re-jetted for the exhaust? If no - that lack of proper jetting and a torn intake coupler could trash the motor - especially if your running E-10 gas/ethanol enriched gas by 10%.

I have not re-jetted the carb for the exhaust. I recently had the exhaust welded because it broke from the insertion site, I didn't know I had to re-jet the carb. oh and I put some 104 octane fuel and mixed in a 1/4 bottle of carb cleaner , could this also be a problem?

The spark plug looks like it has a white film on it. I'm replacing it.

That indicates a lean condition.

45primary/175main is safe jetting for any exhaust made, especially if your intake is still stock. Any higher is unnecessary because the stock intake only allows so much air.
