I have a 2009 Lightning XB12scg and I have been having a serious electrical problem. It first started when the head light would go dim and stay dim for a few seconds. Then the bike started to shut off on me intermittently. Also the bike gauges and lights don't turn on when when I turn the ignition on, the parking lights will come on or nothing at all. This also was an intermittent problem although it has progressively gotten worse. I took the ignition switch out and had it tested and doesn't seem to be the problem. Also I was inform it might be a relay, but that seems fine as well. Any suggestions?

Start with the basics... get the battery connections surgically clean and reconnect, check the "77 connector", and look for micro nicks related to routing of the ECM bundle or cracks in the ECM itself.

I have a very similar problem on my 07TT and can’t find out what is causing it. I swapped relays, cleaned all of the “Frame Ground” connections then ran a jumper between all the frame grounds so that there is a copper wire connection from all the grounds to the battery’s negative terminal.

If you find your problem, I would greatly appreciate it if you would e-mail me at mmcn49@gmail.com.
