need some help . installed hid on 05 xb9sx, mounted the ballast behind the windscreen and the first time i started it the lights came on fine, then turned bike off and tried to turn back on 5 mins later and the ballast made a buzzing sound and wouldnt turn the light on. then took off windscreen took ballast away from bike and let hang loose and it work just fine. Done all over again and the same thing happened. HELP!! anyone

and its not the typical warming the bulbs buzz... it only lasts for about 3 seconds and then quits.

Could there be a short in wire somewhere? Or maybe an internal short on the ballast to the case, and when you put it under the flyscreen it grounds out (even though it shouldn't)?

reepicheep thanks for the info. i got it. there actually was a short in the hot wire that runs into the low beam bulb and the buzz was the wire shorting against the triple tree. thanks for the reply
