i have researched the badweb, and talked to a couple of dealers, and i have about decided on conti road attacks for the 03 xb9s. i enjoy some semi aggressive twisty riding, but try to commute a day or two a week, and am forced to put about 50% of my miles on the straight and narrow. it is just too much to have to put a new rear on every 3000 miles. the road attacks seem to be lasting at least 7000, and i haven't really found anybody complaining about their cornering. any input before i spend the cash?

I had them on my ZRX12--excellent tires for the way I ride!! Will be putting a set on my XB12S very soon...I bought it with Dunflops, and I do not like them at all. I think you'll like the Conti's...my riding style is pretty much the same as yours.

whoohoo! i have been to the edge of the contis and it was all good! i have put about 250 miles on them pretty easy to grind them in. i rode it in to work today, and on the way home, i took the "long cut" to one of my favorite twisty mountain climbs. the road was amazingly clean, and i met ONE car the whole way up! man, they are sticky enough for me! it was on a rail. i guess now it is just a question of how long they will last. so far, they get a definite "two-thumbs up" from me!

I put the Sport Attack Mileage on front and back of my '04 12S and have put around 2,800 miles on this summer. My commute is 5 miles of four lane and 35 of back roads each way. I really love the Attacks and they have shown very little wear. I'm not overly aggressive but the ride and feel have been great. I am very happy with them.

alrighty then! the contis are gone! i got 6600 miles on them, and the rear is history (and the front isn't far behind!). i think they have been fine tires. i guess i will go out and do some research for some new ones. i initially thought i would just get another set of these, but then leaned toward pirelli diablo stradas. now, i reckon the stradas have been discontinued, but i can still get a set. i am kinda up in the air at the moment! any input???
thanks,
ed

Hmmm...I was about to pull the trigger on a set of these Conti's.

But maybe a set of Road Pilot 2's are more in order.

Although the Shinko Ravens are even cheaper, and good for about 10K of Semi-Aggressive driving.

Decisions, decisions!
