Shag - I had a set on my Duce a few years ago. They did just fine on that bike. But that was a cruiser and I almost always had my old lady on the back of that bike. I am not sure how they would perform on a tuber. I just got a set of Conti Sport Attacks for a great price at:

The Conti Road Attack are great tires with solid performance and long life. I almost went with those for the longer life but since I got rid of my GSXR1K I'll be using my X1 for track days and wanted something a little stickier.
Another good low cost sport/touring tire that has been getting great reviews are the Shinko Ravens and Advance. I love the tread pattern of the Advance and will be putting them on my Duce next time.
