I need to know if I have to remove motor to retorque head?? Can I just lower it without complete removal? Or can it be done with the motor the way it is (in the frame)?

Thanks Dirt

You need a new rocker box gasket. The new ones are not paper, and will not leak like the ones on an 01 Blast.

You do not need to completely remove the motor. You do need a service manual.

I agree with Jim you need to replace the rocker gaskets with the new metal type. A retorque will do no good. I did them on my 2000 M2 Cyclone without removing the motor and it was tight sometimes but not hard. I did have to grind down an allen wrench for one bolt on the rear rocker. In other words I second the motion.

No need to remove the motor, however you do need to tilt the motor down in front about 2 inches.
Use a jack under the front of the motor and remove the upper front motor mount bolt, not the ones that go into the head.
Get the service manual, it will be your best friend.
