As the engine is rubber mounted is there a good enough earth to get a proper signal from the engine sensors?

Rubber mounted K100 BMWs responded well to improved earth wiring.

Have replaced the Engine Temp sensor and the bike ran like magic only to go back to its grumbly self two weeks later.

As I rotated the engine to replace both the O2 and the ET sensor I was thinking that there may be an earthing issue.
