posted a video on utube.. i used the direction from another youtube video I found, cut my pipe in three pieces removed the three tubes and walls from the inside and welded it back up again.. left the interactive exhaust valve alone.

Any noticeable difference in performance? I have Lightning can waiting to be gutted and fitted to my Uly. I'll have to alter the tailpipe too.

No difference as far as I can tell right now, maybe a bit more top end, but i just have done the race airfilter, and the pipe right now.. Im working on remapping my ecm currently to get rid of some of the stumbles.. Since i've opened the pipe and am using the hi flow air filter I assume I need to add fuel to the map, but has led me down a long learning process with ecmspy, MegaLogViewer, and my bike, : )

Hope that helps.. and am loving the sound of mine!!!!

What year is your bike? I've got an 08 I'm thinking of doing this to, however the mapping is completely different than previous years.

For the record, a buddy of mine did this on his XB9R and it also worked well.

i wonder how these deal with all the popping we see in our engines? Even my Special Ops is taking a beating after almost 2 years.

Hey guys, I just shortened mine by taking out the mid section cut the baffle tubes shorter except for the big middle one which exit straight out of the rear. Valve been retained, Buell race filter and plugs, sounds good, I have better power, no tuning of the ecm and she wheelies easier. Oh!, by the way my bike is a 2007 Ulysses and been very happy with the results. I have another thread on brakes and would like if anyone can give me some input on that. Thanks.

High powered pipe.
I have no popping from this setup either.
