I was running the Buell Puck gloves for a couple seasons. I liked them a lot, and they seemed to be a decent glove, but only seem to last for a season or so before I wear a hole in the palm or finger somewhere. And thats without any crashes...

At $60 a pop, this started getting old about the third time I did it.

I see a set of Held "Steve" gloves at newenough for $159...

My question is about durability. The Buell puck gloves wear out in about 1 season (which for me is probably about 10k miles). So thats $60 per year. If the Held gloves would hold up for 3 or 4 seasons (30k to 40k miles), then they are actually "cheaper".

So how many seasons are the Held gloves going to last? They have a great reputation, but I have a limited "motorcycle budget", so I have to be pretty selective on where I direct it.

Reep, I have a pair of the Held Steve gloves that I've had for about three years. I don't get as many miles in as you per year, but the gloves have held up very well. They are great gloves, very comfortable and very high quality. I've been happy with the gloves, once I got over the initial sticker shock.

Reep, I have a couple of seasons on a pair of them and they are holding up well. No signs of wear in the fingers or palms. The kangaroo leather is as soft as a baby's butt and the gloves are very comfortable. I ride year round so the miles get split between heated gloves, the Held's, a short cuff Olympia's, and mesh gloves, so mine may have 6K miles on them. I think I only paid $80 or $90 for them when I bought them. I think I would be looking Olympia's product line. I believe my Gerbing's are an Olympia glove and my short cuff gloves are too. Both sets are quality and their pricing is I think a better value than the Held's or look at these from Rider Wearhouse

Thanks, thats what I was seeing... If you pay the money you get a great glove. I tried to insult a guy on ebay yesterday with a $90 offer... and he wasn't interested.

That newenough price was flat retail... no discount at all. Their margin is probably getting eaten by exchange rates.

I'll go to Iron Pony and try a bunch and see if I can find a good set of something for a bit less then the $160 Held Steve's... If I can't, then $160 is a good deal ; )

Thanks for the input everyone...
