Hey Chris,
I will have the money for the bags on Friday.
What is your schedule looking like this weekend?

Edit...
Doh, nevermind.. I forgot that you were out of town this weekend. I catch up with you on Monday.
Have a great trip!

Hiya Russ, Kendal, and All!

It's been forever since I've popped in here. Then again, I no longer have the Buell. Still, I sometimes like to jump back in to some forums and say "Hi!".

Russ, I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom. My condolences and prayers for you and your family.

Anyway, if the weather ever gets warm enough to ride, I'd like to meet up and run down the road with you Buellies.

Also, I'm planning on doing a Talladega track day in May. This will be my first ever, and will be all over the novice session. I think I'll do the two day event since the price is pretty good. If anyone's interested in going as well, let me know.

Definitely need to ride!!! This weather is killing me!

I do need a new front tire though, so I'll definitely be taking it easy (easier than my already easy pace) until I get that.

I'll have to see if I can make that track day as well.

How is the Triumph treating you??

Russ: I don't get to do too many long rides these days. However, I still ride back and forth to work when it's not raining/snowing. Even when it's cold. Last week I rode to work when it was 25 degrees. It wasn't too bad since I was well bundled. Here's a vid that I took that morning:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I2ueKrgukWc

As for tires, have you been to CycleGear? They usually have decent prices on tires. Also, if you need them, I have bike stands for when you're ready to replace the front tire and remove the wheel.

The Triumph is great. So far, it's one of the best bikes that I've ever ridden. Although I miss the Buell, the Speed Triple seems to fit me better. I love this bike.

Kendal: As you probably noticed above, I'm now riding a 2000 Triumph Speed Triple 955i. Although the Buell was a fantastic and great looking bike, I never warmed to its handling. In fact, it seemed that I was always fighting/struggling with it when going down the road or curves. The Speed Triple seems to alleviate those issues. I'm not going to lie, I miss the Buell terribly, but I think that the S3 fits me better.

Here's a pic:

2000 Triumph Speed Triple 955i

Regardless, it'd be great if both of you were able to make it to the track day in May. There's one going on in March, but I honestly don't trust the weather enough, and really don't like the idea of freezing.

Triumphs are great bikes, probably what I'd look at first if I wanted a new naked bike. I spend most of my time cruising pretty easy, so I just bought a Super Glide. It's comfortable, but handles way better than I thought a cruiser could.

Sweet looking bike. I love the Speed Triples.

I'm going to keep an eye on Cycle Gear for thier usual "buy the rear, get the front free" sale they do each year on Pirelli's.

I don't know if the "faster than usual" wear on the front was due to me riding more aggressively this past season, or the Bridgestone Battle-axe's just wear quicker. But I have never gone through a front tire that fast. I'm going to go back to the pirelli's and see what happens. I've always like the Diablo.

It almost seems that you might've gotten one of the softer compound Battleaxe's. That might explain the faster wear. I use the Pilot Road 2 tires on my bike. They are a dual compound tire and they seem to do a pretty good job.

Additionally, it looks to be a fair weekend. The forecast states that it's supposed to be in the 50s, with a 10-20% chance of rain. I'm planning on riding. Anyone interested? I'm thinking Saturday, but then again it might actually get a bit warmer on Sunday. Got some other friends who might come along as well. Let me know.

3 months!? Holy carp!

What happened?

At least you have a backup bike though.

Have fun at Daytona! I need to check the schedule of the races and see what is going to be televised.
One of the Atlanta (3%er's) buell guys is racing, I don't remember which class though.

The guage cluster has to be replaced due to my low fuel light coming on for no reason. HD sucks for some customer service.

Bummer. Does the light just stay on? Or does it come on intermittnetly?

It might be a simple short that could be fixed "diy".

The guy I traded my XB12S to for the Triumph is now wanting to sell it. I don't think there's anything wrong with it, it's just that he appears to be selling off all of his bikes. He's asking $3,800 as is, or $4,000 with an extra set of plastics plus the Select seat.

Here's a video of the bike when I still had it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zpOl7hihvPk

Well my bike is finally fixed after over 3 months and threating a law suit against harley. It has been a pain in my ass. Luckly I still had my ninja to ride. I hope it is fixed cause Im started to hate this bike.

Man, that sounds like a real pain in the ass.

Hopefully you won't see the problem any longer and will enjoy the bike from now on with no issues.

Cool.. I guess everything on the bike is now working well? No more dash problems?

I haven't been riding much at all... been too busy. And I need a new front tire.

I tried the Battle Axe tires this last round, and went through the front VERY quickly. The rear is still good to go... Very strange.
I think I'm going to go back to the Pirelli Diablo.. Those did me good. I just need the funds to replace them now.

Yea no more problems so far. I been riding the crap out of both my bikes. Both are getting close for a valve job which im dreading. If you need to save some money I can mount your tire on rim for you. I got tired of paying and bought me a no marr tire changer. I can change it and balance in just a few mins.

So, I'm putting the bike up for sale, and all of my bike related stuff.

Just don't have time to ride anymore.

I have it listed in the classifieds here:
