I got my bike ready. I got my list of what to take ready. I was ready to take this day and finish some work, pack my stuff and go to bed early.......then the phone rang.

One of my major customers has decided to use us for a part of the service we that we provide, and had done for them for years. Last year they shopped around and found someone cheaper, and when they quit another. Well, now they are back and needing us. So here I am unbelievably more excited about work than making the trip. The past year has sucked and this may be the remedy.

You all have a great time and know that I will be thinking about you! Lucky bastards anyhow!

If you want another Jam, stay on 94..Heading North, South of Grand Ave exit was backed up bad earlier for several miles because of the Six Flags at that exit, Once you pass that exit, its clear....

I advise everyone heading up 94 during the day to follow 41 (you'll not have to pay toll either), and follow 41 up to Grand Ave, head west on Grand for several miles and then North on 94...

Oh yea, just met Buellistic and his wife another couple who flew in today! Awesome people!

Whoever rented the orange Uly frm Hal's and is from Australia, stop by room 481 or call the room first.

Bring the bike to the back.

Also there is a wash station in the Motorcycle only parking in the back that is open 24/7, but you should probably bring soap and towels.

But, everyone should know there is parking in the back for bikes only.

Don't mind the Police tape!

So should we set up a roll call of who is already here or what? I have already met a few people from as far away as Denver and Wilmington N.C.. I arrived about 1630 and totally forgot about the time change. If anyone is planning on meeting somewhere in the Sheraton tonight, post away. Otherwise I 'll see y'all out and about.

Well folks, the adventure continues!
Eric (Coldwthrrider) stopped on his S1 for a quick oil change before we head out at 6:00 AM tomorrow.
As he pulled up the driveway I heard a GODAWEFUL knocking coming from the area of the primary. It was tough to tell exactly where it was from due to the open Megs pipe (think Force volume).
I threw it on the lift and pulled the primary inspection cover. I was hoping it was a loose primary or broken primary adjuster.
It wasn't.... After pulling the primary cover I found the primary nut on the crank all the way off.
Bottom line, the splines end of the crank are toast. The S1 isn't going anywhere.

All is not lost though, my son's S2 is sitting right next to the lift!
A quick check of the tire pressure and oil level and Eric's on his way back home.

We leave at 7:00 tomorrow morning from the east side of St Paul!

So if you see a couple of S2's making their way through WI from MN, give us a wave or honk.

I've got 50% of my bikes loaded. The 700# is on the trailer. In the AM I'll load the 1125r.

Now all I have to do is pack for Neil. Hopefully we will head out 7-8 in the AM. I'll get up at 5:00 and finish loading and tieing down.

We should be in WI about 7:00, w/o pushing too hard.

Look for a blue F-150 with 2 blue bikes. That's us.

CU in the PM.

Will there be a caravan of Buellers (racers and spectators alike) going to Blackhawk leaving from the host hotel? If so, any designated leaving time/location?

A pre-ride inspection can save your A$$!!

I am back to the "Belt Gang" for now.
Thank God I decided to wash the bike before heading out. During our bath I noticed how thin the teeth are getting and I thought to myself I will need to change out that sprocket and chain when I get home. Gave the wheel a spin and TA DA!! WTF was that?
Spin it around slowly and wouldn't ya know it has some tooth decay.
I spent all the time that I should have been packing running around the garage trying to find all the parts to put the belt back on.
Well the bike is all back together, I'm packed and now I can't sleep!
I'll be heading west in about 5 hours....

Did I tighten the pinch bolt.... gotta go!

I'm near Paw Paw at a rest area.
Will be heading north on 39 in a few minutes.
I dressed and packed for hot weather and I'm freezing.
Sky's starting to lighten so it'll be hot again soon.
Oh yeah, down here nearer to sea level, Loretta's a popcorn machine again.

I'm getting closer to being on the road. My shock rebuild was finally completed (at about 10:00 last night), met Randy halfway to pick it up, and got to bed late.

I'm skipping the drag races to install the shock tonight, and do some road testing to get the shock settings.

I expect to be at the hotel tomorrow morning, to finally do some riding. The S3's been down all June, because of the shock. It'll be nice to have the shock working for me, instead of riding around the shock.

Amber and I arrived last night at 1030 or so. Huge thanks to Danbury HD-Buell for fixing my cooling fan, (it died Friday in Pennsylvania when we were riding from FL to CT) and for fitting a 10,000 mile service in last minute to get me on the road Monday afternoon.

We rode about 2,200 miles in the past seven days, with a two-day layover in CT. The Uly is awesome for touring, athough I think just about anything short of a Goldwing or Geezerglide would make a person's butt sore after a 700+ mile day.

Oh, and I have never been so happy to hear my cooling fan run as when I was stuck in traffic yesterday, and thinking that if the fan had been dead I'd have been screwed...

Yay for having to wear 3 armbands all week (5 if your doing track days).

If its raining, Sears said we can park under their overhang by the Merchandise Pick up on the sidewalk. I spoke with the manager.

Lynn and I have arrived. We are in room 119.... I only lost the luggage out of the S2T hardbag once. Of course it did have to get run over a couple of times and end up on in the center of I94..... That was not enough so when the nice policeman gave me a lift back to the bike I secured the bag with duct tape and promptly left the saddle bag key on the back of the bike as I hit highway speeds again (different key for bags and ignition). After chilling and thinking about it for a while I was able to get the bag open with a knife slicing my finger in the process...

Other than that we are recovered and here.
