I bought a 1988 Kawasaki Concours with 22,000 miles on it back in Aug. wanted to see if i could deal with a sport touring type of bike as my wife doesn't enjoy riding on the back of the Buell. I turned 60 on the 4th of July so i probably won't get the 1125R as much as i would really like to. I figured the next time i might not be as lucky. My ribs are still sore and my shoulder is deformed some but usable. I found out that old bones brake easier and heal a little slower. Thanks for asking. Stay safe.

Parts for sale. Check archives Oct23rd 2007 for list. I have a service manual for 2006 Firebolt, also Helibars which are 1-1/2" back and 1" up, makes for a more comfortable riding position.

Hmm, well the girl definately isn't the one I was thinking of. I don't know either them from the bikes or track suits. I'll look around. Now what track were you at anyway? I'm actually about to leave for rec leisure now to go check out their suits.

Tib,
Glad you're healing up but sorry the process is so slow. Bones on anyone take time to stop hurting. Who knows, that 1125R may still be in your future. Doesn't really matter though as long as you stay on 2 wheels and enjoy riding. I only met you that one time but still can't believe you just turned 60.

Shobe. Thanks for the comment about being 60 but my wife reminds me of it every time she sees me looking at younger women.

Track was Grattan, near Grand Rapids.

A two pc suit is definitely the way to go. You can take off your jacket in between sessions on track days and you can wear the jacket by itself while on the street. Just make sure it zips all the way around. Most 2 pc suits do...

If you get ready to buy and you know ur size, I know a guy in Fla that will give you the best deal you'll find anywhere, unless you find one on clearance somewhere...

Also, check ebay, sometimes you see some pretty good deals on there, too.

Cool, I'd like to get that information from you. I actually found a guy with an ebay store here in michigan that has teknik (sp) 2 piece suits for around $400 that look comparable to the Joe Rocket ones I was looking at. Yeah, I don't think I'd go with a one piece because I'm not going to be racing and would prefer something I can get more use out of. Not to mention that I keep thinking that at some point, I'm sure i'm going to want to go to the bathroom during the day.

I found out who the girl was you were talking about but still no idea who the guy is.Definately have to do some track days next year. I can't wait. Going to spend the winter getting my bike buttoned up and ready

I just heard about "Team Chicago" track school that a bunch of guys did last April at Grattan Raceway. It was ONLY $35!! I'm planning on signing up for that one...

The Teknic "Chicane" is the suit ur talking about. I see a lot of people wearing that suit at the track. I almost got one...I think I was quoted $416 shipped from the florida dude. Lookup the number at biohazardcycles.com and call Tommy. Tell him I sent ya and he'll beat ur best price. He is excellent to work with. This goes for anything you need motorcycle related...
I ended up getting the Joe Rocket suit because it was a discontinued model and I got it dirt cheap. Retail $699 and I got it for $450

For all you guys that don't have State Farm Ins. you might want to check out there prices. I had 18,123 miles on my 06 firebolt and they paid me $ 8,703.00 after the $500.00 deductible, total was $9,203.00. In that total they paid me 6% sale tax and title cost, not bad. I also took off all my after market parts to sell so i am very happy with my pay off. Not bragging just want to share what State Farm paid me for my high mileage bike.

Keep the gas tank full and put some stabal [sp?]in with it.It is a good idea to start it once a month and let it warm up or take the battery out and keep it inside.

Do not start it once a month unless youplan on riding it for a few miles.

All that will do is build up condensation in the motor. Put insome stabil if you so wish, but I never do and things work out fine.
Before storing, run the bike for a few min, change the oil and tranny fluid and do not start till spring.

Also get a batter tender trickle charger and keep your battery inside and on the charger.

Put some steel wool in the exhaust outlet so no critter hibernate or store food in there durning the winter. (Yes I have seen this a dozen times)

+on putting something in the exhaust hole. Aluminum foil works also.

Don't run it, it will only build up condensation inside the motor.

The fuel will be fine during the winter. Its sitting during the summer that is bad.

+2 on don't start it once a month. I told my son not to put that down. Ain't it nice to have kids to blame things on.

The group's icon is not showing up here or on the Storm Fronts main page. Either the hosting URL is no longer there, or it is down. I'll put it up on the BadWeB server is someone can send me a copy of it. The URL is

Thanks,

I just booked rooms for homecoming 2008. The first day of July 2nd is already sold out for the group Buell rate. I ended up getting a military discount for the first night.

So as of right now I have a two double bed room for July 2 through the morning of the 6th. The rate for the first night was $105, and $90 for the folowing. So after the city and state tax the total is $425 dollars.

I am willing to split the room with 1,2, or 3 other people depending on the other people that are stay request. I am also willing to get an additional room at the military rate for the first night if some one wants there own room at the same hotel.

Sheraton Brookfield Hotel, 800-325-3535

Let me know
