Hi fellas,

My bike was supposed to be here this week...but the trucked missed a drop off time...bah blah blah. Should be here next week though.

Anyway, Here's a pic of a what used to be a Jardine sticker on the left side of the exhaust. It's pretty well charred. I'm thinking that the only way I'll be getting it off is to scrape it. Does anyone have any suggestions? Maybe there's a solvent out there that can help out?

Also, the exhaust seems to have a bit of heat discoloration. Is this color normal for the Ti pipe.

The color is normal for TI. It will even get blue at the front if ridden hard enough.

As for the sticker your f-ed. Get a pack of single sided razor blades, a few cold beers and see if you can purchase some patience somewhere. LOL Your on the right track with scraping it off though. Sharp razor blades and a careful hand will get 99% of that off IMO

Thanks a lot bud...I figured there was no easy way around it. I've got to take it off to repack it anyways. How hard is it to remove the muffler?

I can't wait to start getting dirty with this bike

Just a few bolts. It will be real obvious how easily it removes when your looking at in person. Good Luck. It won't be as bad as you think and there will more than likely be some kind of leftover mark after the scraping. Once you get it all off maybe try some different grades of steel wool working the direction of the metal grain and try to buff/sand it out??

haha, my computer screen is junk so to me it looks like some type of cool sticker that was made like that.

Related question, has anyone put stickers on the stock exhaust with out running into problems like this. I was thinking of putting one on it but was in fear of the above picture

ok I am at work now, and now I can see how bad it looks.

maybe try running thr bike for a while get it sorta warm, and then attack it with some WD40 with some aggresive rubbing. I would use the razor as a last resort, I think you will end up scaring up the metal

WD40 only works on a clean surface that is smooth and it will only soften the glue. That bad boy is baked on and will require to be scraped off. No matter how you look at it there will be some damage to the surface of the can. If your gonna re-pack it anyway you'll have better luck scraping it off sitting down somewhere comfortable, taking your time and working with the metal grain. I work with a friend building airboats from aluminum, chromoly and metal so I'm fairly comfortable around different metals. That bad boy is on there and it's gonna take a bit of effort but you should be able to get it all off with minimal damage.
