Hey guys, Has anyone done this mod? I have seen a company that sells larger throttle body openings etc. Would making them larger be a good performance gain without major engine work?
Thanks...Matt

Do you mean the aluminum and carbon fibre velocity stacks?
I think there was a test done on them and they showed no gains at all.

Get a F.A.S.T. intake system from Hillbilly Motors. It works great.

You mean this?
This is NOT the throttle body.

Or do you mean something like this?

Throttle body sizing takes real engineering -- something Buell excels at. You make the throttle body too big and you gain some peak horsepower at the expense of torque at lower RPMs. Or you could just lose power everywhere.

Velocity matters when it comes to atomization and keeping the fuel particles suspended for combustion. Too big a throttle body and you have inadequate velocity.

Buells have highly tuned engines with powerbands designed to work well on the street. If you're looking for more high RPM horsepower at the expense of low RPM torque, you're probably better off looking at some of the Japanese inline fours. It would be cheaper in the long run and give you more horsepower than you're ever going to get out of your Buell.

I Believe one of the sponsors on here also bore out the Throttle Bodies, and for a cheaper price than them...!
