I had a "little" snafu at the dealer today.

I don't want to go into all of it here, but one of the short takes is they changed the oil but didn't use Syn3 as requested.

Are there any issues by going back to dino juice for a little while? I don't have time to have this corrected before my trip.

Don't tell me that DHD messed up! Personally I don't see a problem using it on your trip unless you plan to rip up the countryside and rock the motor.

Nonetheless, you could change it yourself, right? Don't worry about the expense. If they don't help, then get Mobil-1 and say to heck with them.

Have a safe and fun trip!

Prof, if you want to know what happened PM me...

The only issue I see it the extra heat, I am heading to a toastier climate.
On the ride home I did notice the motor was quieter. Sounded like less valve noise.

I would change it myself, except I am leaving soon, and even if I had time I do not have anyplace to change it (joys of living downtown)

are you off to the going to the sun road?!? Already? I expect some great photos and some info about how much longer that road will be open. The details man, just the details . Ride safe

20W50 mineral oil is the best choice for the hydraulic lifters...

If they put the straight 50 or 60 w oil you will be fine. If they put 20w-50w watch your oil level in higher temps it will tend to disappear.

I am running the straight HD 60w for summer. 2800 miles since changing and it is still at the same level without adding any.
