For starters I want to say my XB12S is my first streetbike and I love it. Anyway I would like to try to make my seating position more aggressive like the firebolts. What would I need to do. Are the crossroads bars about as low as the bolt's? Higher seat and higher footpegs? Any suggestions?

a number of us have put the r tail on and s. pretty easy and everything will fit under the seat, although some have used the r's trunk space to relocate stuff. r pegs do not have the 1 inch drop. not sure about the crossroads, but i think i want them for my bike. people have put the r front on an s, but that seems like more work than the tail. i'm sure somebody that has done that will chime in. check the knowledge vault for info, and let me know if that doesnt answer your questions.

The "S" foot pegs cost about $25 at the dealer. The pegs alone won't give you a more sit-up style. I switched to a Heli triple clamp I got from Al at American Sport Bike and that helped with the riding position quite nicely.

Tbowdre, someone else is going to tell you about the Heli top triple and the superbike bar conversion, but if you aren't short like me, the Buell Custom Seat will get you further up in the air plus increase the distance to the footpegs, outstanding 2-for-1 deal. The main thing is you can go all day without butt burn, where the stock seat will let me go only 100 miles before I'm scooting back and shifting around. However if you are short like me, try riding the stock position at cruising speed, I like the bars where they are 'cause cruising at 75 to 80 the wind sets up a pillow of air that my chest leans on and my hands are putting very little pressure on the bars. The wind pushing on you in the sitting up position can make your back "C" shaped and cause you lower back pain.

Does anybody know of any places I could get this stuff used? Somebody has to have taken off their headlights and plastic to put on race plastic. I'll have to call Dave. Thanks

Just out of curiosity, has anyone tried mounting a superbike handlebar...upside down and the other way around on their S? I was just thinking about devoting an hour or so this Saturday morning to try this simple mod out : ). Just did a little simulation and the sitting position should be much more aggressive, which I would like to achieve. Also, there should be enough place not to slap the tank in full turn - just an ignorant's guess. I am not concerned with he looks, I can live with them as long as I can have a nicer riding experience on the Nuerburgring : )

If anyone is interested in converting there XBS into an XBR, I have a complete set of XBR plastic for sale. Mint condition. I would sell it for LESS than half the cost of new ones!
