I am looking for any Bueller's that may work for or know someone that works for a HD dealership within the state of CA.

I am now running into issues between what my ins co wants to pay out for the bike and what I think it is worth. Basically the burden is on me to prove to them the worth of my bike. I have been told everything installed on my bike is "preferential" meaning there is no value on it because they are aftermarket parts and they hold no value to another buyer only the person that put them on the bike.

The have a company called CCC that provides them with actual sales data from around me the state which states what "like" vehicles sold for. Only two vehicles were provided to them so that is all they went off of.

What I am trying to get is maybe a statement of some sort on a California HD dealerships (or any dealership for that matter if they sold an XB12R) letter head stating what they sold a 2004 XB for. I realize that this will be hard which is why I am asking the "collective" for help as there is more power in numbers. I am not looking for an actual sales statement with buyers info etcc.. Just what a 2004 Buell XB12R sold for at that particular Ca dealership. I am almost positive it will be well over 6500.00. At least I am hoping.

I only had 4000 miles on mine with a fair amount of aftermarket parts and my ins co only wants to pay 6500.00. That is less than NADA's estimate and it doesn't even include any of my parts.

Anyway TIA for the help. John

Try Dave Finnerty (General Manager) at San Diego HD/Buell. He knows the bikes (and races with us)

Also try Ernie at Glendale.

You probably already know that aftermarket parts are rarely covered unless you have it burned up in a garage and it's covered under your homeowner's insurance (don't ask how I know)

Yohinan,

I had the same problem per say, but I got their attention with ALL of the original receipts for the parts I was most concerned about. What kind of parts are they giving you a rash about? I too delt with CCC, and they are not completely closed to discussion on specific items. You have to have a good attitude about this with them, both on the phone and if possible in person. They get attitude all day form everyone, you might be surprised what they will cover with receipts and a good attitude!!

PS, dont forget about your gear. Almost all Insurance companies cover your gear as well as your bike, because it is a requirement for the safe operation of the vehicle.

Nope - we gave it away while nobody was looking.

We're now referred to as the "Lower 47" : D
