JUST BE CAREFULL . i was out riding in sequoia natnl forrest, and was probibly riding beyond my skill level . anyway cought some gravel and almost ( by almost i mean inches) ran into a rock wall... i stopped and had to check my shorts . then i realized i havent done anything about my tire in a long time . I have 8000 miles on the original tires. Stupid! i was riding to fast and on worn out tires, and i almost lost the bike not to mention my well being. anyway i am rethinking my preflight checklist and how i ride and the state of repair of my bike . just be carefull i almost was SOL . thanks for reading and letting me vent.

8000 on the original tires, WHAT?!

You must have accidently left the tire warmers on. Yeah, yeah, that's it---the tire warmers-that's the ticket.

He has a City X. OE tires are Pirelli Scorpion Syncs. I put them on my 03' and hope to get at least 5-6k out of them. Doubtful I'll get anywhere near 8k the way I ride

Thanks for the reality check Sub65chris.
Be careful out there, and in the pre-ride check before you leave!

Gotta go terrorize some bugs and bluehairs.....see ya!

I have 7,300 on my stock D208's. There almost bald in the center. Needless to say i don't do burn outs. I don't like what it cost to replace tires.

I would kill to get more than 5,000 miles out of any tire that still sticks.
