Great looking bike. Uh, this may be an extraneous point but how do you know how fast you're going? I don't see a tach anywhere. The Germans and English do have some really trick stuff. I do wish the Americans would embrace the streetfighter style. Not like it's a bad thing to be unique but parts are $$$$. Our particular motorcycle seems to be in between the chasm of hogs and rice burners.

and when i see a cop i go the flow of traffic

thanks for all the comments

i am from las vegas and this bike is how this american sees it

i to wish american companies had more creativity, so we dont have to go to europe for parts

Did you have to remove the engine to have the Frame and forks painted?

I was actually on the phone with Ron a few days ago talking about his bike. The work he has done on this in wild. Here are some of the things he's told me about what he's done.

This used to be an 'R' model if you don't already know that. He pretty much converted the whole thing over too and 'S' model, wiring and all. As you can see, no speedometer, tach, etc. In fact, pretty much anything electronic is gone up front. He's moved the entire wiring harness assembly under the seat, including the ignition key as you can see in the one photo. He's shaved off the front fender mounts, integrated a solenoid to open up the rear area, powder coated nearly everything. He also told me he's got a few other things planned for it, such as hiding all the control cables (clutch, throttle, etc.).

Ron, I haven't decided on the powder coating of the front rim yet. I think I'm going to wait a few days. I'm trying to figure out if I'm better just getting a new or used black one or sending in the front for powder coating. The price you gave me was fine, but it's the shipping back and forth that adds up and in the end, it may be just as cost effective too buy new. I'll let you know.

Here's another vote for Ron as USA Buelligan-Eurofighter king. He pointed me to a couple great resources for customization ideas, like CAD-bike. Ron's probably done more custom XB pieces than anyone in the US besides Crossroads (great stuff, seemingly focused now on non-Buell aftermarket).

Gotta agree that the Buell sits (strategically) at the intersection of American V-twin Main Street and Sportbikespeedstrada. You'd think we'd have a bunch of aftermarket choices for bike customization!

Bike's looking great, Ron! I'm steering away from black for my XB project, 'cause you OWN the blackout XB streetfighter look!
