Sometimes my XB12 "coughs" through the airbox when its idling and I blip the throttle a little...sounds a little like a backfire through the airbox. Anyone else have this happen and is it normal? The bike is brand new and only has about 100 miles on it. Thanks and God bless.

It'll happen less as the engine breaks in, but it never goes away exactly.

My best recommendation is to ALWAYS let it warm up for a full minute before touching the throttle.

NEVER blip the throttle when it's cold.

first try to break the habit of "blipping the throttle a little" you may be confusiong the EFI, which is not programmed to distinguish between THRUST and NOISE.
second, make certain that your hot engine idle speed is set correctly: 1100 rpm HOT is about right.
