Board member Statik mentioned something about wanting to trade his black wheels for amber so you might PM him and see if he is still interested. I would have taking up the offer but I think the gold wheels/black bodywork combo is oh so sexy

You can always paint them. Instead of getting new bearing and having to press them in. I opted to paint them. Just about 8K with them painted and no chips. It's a much cheaper option IMHO.

sunshine- sweep that garage its a mess your rims look awsome and i think the painting idea is a better alternative as well. usally your colors for the powder coat are limited and then you can really get the color you want (love the polished lip too by the way)

I have to point this out: going by Buell MSRP, the Amber wheels cost AN EXTRA $39.

EACH.

If it were me, I'd look hard at selling or swapping 'em before I screwed around with the coating...

Black_Sunshine, can you post some instructions on how you painted your wheels and what kind of paint you used. Thanks.

Creeater....I had a fellow 3%er paint them for me (Silver_Bullet). I removed both front and rear rotors and rear sprocket. I would recommend getting NEW replacement bolts and washers. (they are 1 time use only) Taped off the polished lip (9 rims)and tires. Wipe down with good etching primer. Spray away. It also has a very hard clear coat acrylic especially for wheels to resist chipping.

If you want more details ask Silver_Bullet in the Storm Fronts: 3% Bragging Rights Club section on the board. He also painted my subframe and Special O.P.S. Chopped tail.
