Hey all! New to the site and to Buells but not big twins. Well, after 4 Suzuki twins (Marauder, SV650, TL1000S and SV1000S) I took the plunge and bought a Buell. I've always been a fan of the American twins, but when the 12R came out last year, I was in total lust! I passed on buying one then as my local dealer would not budge off full retail, and ended up selling my 97 TLS and buying a leftover 03 SV1000S. Well, yesterday morning I came across a deal I could not pass up for an 04 12R with D&D exhaust, race chip and filter and with just 950 miles on the clock! So now the SV1K will go up for sale and I can't wait to get my Buell!! I should have it in hand by this weekend and am very excited! This seems like a great site and I'm looking forward to learning more about these great bikes and participating!

Billy

Lazyme, I'm in Delray and work in Deerfield. Once I pick up the bike, we should get together some time. Shame about Fud's getting shut down for "snow storms" huh? Too bad to here the crappy things bout Pompano. That's where I was planning on taking the new scooter as I have a buddy who is a salesman there. Incidentally, they're the same shop who would not come one dime off retail for me last spring even with my "inside connection".....maybe I will have to take it up to Palm Beach Harley/Buell or just learn to wrench it myself.

Fullpower, last spring I rode both the 9R and 9S with race kits and decided that if the 12 was everything I was being told that I could definitely live with it. I've just been looking for the right deal for the last year!!

Dago, I'm planning on buying TFM so I can RTFM and not have to ask the same old questions as everyone else! Hahahaha!!!!

Thanks for the welcome guys!
Billy

Enjoy... Kevin

Congratulations on your new bike. I too had a metric V twin sportbike (Honda SuperHawk). With it, never saw a gas station I couldn't pass up.

To be fair, it was a lot of fun, but my Buell is more fun, more engaging, just a dream in the tight stuff, more comfy, more engineering, American made, and I do not have to stop at every gas station for "go" juice

Yup, the jap twins guzzle the gas. My TL usually got around 30-32 mpg and even my SV1K only gets around 35. I'm really looking forward to getting more than 110 miles before the low fuel light comes on. That and no more chain cleaning/lubing!! I can't friggin wait to get on that thing!!!!

The Buell truely makes the saying "smiles per miles" come true. Get ready to call a surgin to remove your smile man.

Whoo hoo!!! Picked it up last night and it rocks! Pretty much what I expected - TOTAL BEAST OF A BIKE!! The sound is awesome and REALLY loud with the D&D, shifts better than my SV and pulls like a train. I can't wait to put some miles on this baby and really get to know her!!
