It looks to me as I research the history of the XB its alot like the Sportster as both were designed and marketed to appeal to a much more specific youthful buyer who were out having fun on the street lane splitting, speeding...generally hooligan (fun) short rides which naturally leads to racing (dirt track, Moto GP, etc.). Both were designated (X) as in XLC & XB.

Does anyone know more about the XB project history?

There's a book about BUELL which looks pretty good to me. Anyone know anything about it?

This is the definitive book of Buell.

My overall point is BUELL has a cult following similar to the Sportster since thats what it was based on. Mine needs some work I can't afford right now but regardless I ain't ever selling it.

The XB seems to be just starting (IMO) to get the aftermarket cult following it's ancestor, the XL, has enjoyed for decades. Maybe it always has had it. I just bought mine a month ago after wanting one for years once I realized it's design superiority.

The author, "Court Canfield" is a member here and pops in from time to time. He's been associated with Buell since nearly the beginning.

In keeping with the thread's point my rides today made me realize even as advanced as the XB is its a HD Sportster at heart and maybe it doesn't have the top end of an EBR but I LOVE riding mine more than any motorcycle I've ever owned
