Author Message   Juniorkirk Posted on Monday, August 07, 2017 - 08:09 pm:        I'm going to be buying a magnaflow 11148 muffler and going to weld a 90 degree bend on it and then cut off the outlets and put some angled pieces on it then paint it all matte black and throw it on my bike. BUT I need the gasket that goes from header to muffler and I can't seem to find one ANYWHERE. Is there a different one that can work?   Hughlysses Posted on Monday, August 07, 2017 - 08:21 pm:        There is no gasket between the muffler inlet and the header. IIRC, the shop manual says coat the end of the header with a little high temp RTV to ensure a good seal. EDIT- Judging by your profile pic, I'm guessing this question is in regard to an 1125, not an XB. Try posting in the 1125 sub-forum. I need to upgrade my profile. I haven't had the 1125 since 2011. I did own the 1125 a lot longer then I did my 12R so that must be why I thought it had one. Thanks you for help Hugh. This is why I love this site, can come here and easily get advice and help on anything Buell. I don't use RTV on either of my XB9Rs/ With the relieved, overlap pipe on the muffler and a good clamp, RTV is not necessary in my opinion.
