New here to Buell, picked up a 1200 lightning w/ only 4500 miles on it. Have a question, what is in the hole with the plastic plug behind the shifter linkage? Is it a threaded hole? Any knowledge would help, thanx. Oh it's a 2005 xb12s .

It is tapped and is an alternative linkage pivot point. I lost the plastic part and screwed in an SS set screw.

Also it's used for Ulysses shift lever mount.

Thanks y'all , I was gonna make a mid footpeg and flip the shifter around as one of my legs is damaged from a previous wreck. I made a mid peg for the right side this morning off of the idler mount for the belt. Thanks again.

Just be aware that the engine is flopping around on the rubber mounts and it may put your foot to sleep.

Or perhaps it's a foot massager?
