After 35k I am considering an XB12SS. I know its about the same size. Problem is I need to find one to get a better feel of how big it is. I wont be happy with a smaller Buell.

What do you think?

According to google one has a 54" wheelbase and the other has a 55" wheelbase. Unless you're talking about closer to the ground when you say "smaller"?

You really have to try one out to understand.
My 2008 XB12X is so different from my 2000 X1 that it's hard to believe that they come from the same factory.

The ergos are almost impossible to explain otherwise.

I will attest to that. Completely different bikes, not only in terms of handling. Power delivery is very different on an X1.

I bought an XB12Scg recently, can't wait to find out how that compares to my Ulysses and X1.

My friends think I'm a little nuts for owning nothing but Buells, but like you said, they are so different.

As for the OP, if you're considering a Ulysses, try one. It's probably my favorite out of the three I own now.

OP Where are you located? If any of the board members who own a bike you're interested in live near you, you could probably at least sit on one.

Of all my bikes the XB9S (I am 6' 3") is a real hoot and the favorite (and runt) of the litter. Cagers think it is a scooter at the stoplights until the hammer is dropped.... gone. When making a meal, one uses a can opener, when making a twisty, one uses a 9S. Note the power/weight ratio too. Cut two cheek butt bone grooves and a perineum groove in the seat foam and recover the seat, go riding for hours. Size matters.... the smaller the better (XB9S).
