Disclosure: Im a tuber guy and have owned a boat load of Buells, but only one has been an XB and zero 1125s.

Can someone explain the mount differences between the XB's and 1125's? (Please go beyond one is rigid mount and other is not. Would it be possible to put an 1125 motor in an XB frame without going much further than different engine mounts? Thanks and pics would be helpful.

Reason Im asking is I am thinking of doing the BOTT XR1 build but would like a little better motor if Im gonna do it.

Have a look at the mounts on this 1125 frame and compare them with a XB frame.
totally different and the outside looks almost the same.
but you probably know that anything is possible!

If you want to go for a Bott frame (not that difficult to build yourself if you ask me)
you build or have it build to fit a 1125 engine from the beginning.

There was some talk when the XB engines came out for putting a downdraft boat carb on there but it never got anywhere.
Soon thereafter, people started to figure out how to mess with the computers so it became irrelevant.

Here are some "deal breaker" questions to ask:
What would you do for ignition?
How would it be timed?
The fuel line is under 50 pounds of pressure. How would you lower that so that a float bowl would work?

If you're looking at all of these challenges already, why not get something else to jam in that XB frame?
Like a TL1000 or VTR1000 engine?

Honestly, I have looked at the other motors but I have a soft spot for Buell's and its what Im most comfortable with working on, however, Im over my head with 1125s. Ive had a few Ducati996/1098s and a SDR KTM 990. They make a ton of power but all the same issues as you noted. Weight to power would probably be insane if I used an 1125 and the headaches would probably outweigh the upsides, so Ill probably go with the XB motor or have a frame built to accommodate the 1125. At this point, Im in the info gathering stage. ND

This with a 1125 engine and some air ducts through the front of the fuel tank.
