Where do you find the ignition key code for an XB?

I'm pretty sure a dealer can get it from the VIN.

I just bought a true OEM Buell key blank from e-bay for $9.00 and went to my local locksmith and he cut it to match witch I paid him $5.00. what I wanted was a spare so I brought my locksmith the original to copy. I have also been told to go to a Harley/buell dealer and order a blank and when it comes in they can cut it for you. I'm not sure if I believe that.

My dealer can't get a key without the vin.I guess I'll have to think about the non oem ebay route.

Ilco: x270 TMC1 is a blank that many locksmiths should have on hand.
Just no horsey thing on the end.
