Hey guys, I was wondering with the chain conversion how tight everyone is running their chain. It would seem with the idler sprocket that we shouldn't be running the chain as loose (1-1.5 inches of travel) as a regular chain bike. I think I may have had mine overtightened last time around and wound up with premature wearing of the teeth on the front and rear sprockets. I'm almost thinking I have it too loose yet this time around.

my buddy runs his I-4's with what I would think is a lot of slack in the chain.

i'd err on the side of caution and loosen it.

and be careful on downshifting.
I saw a guy at a trackday in NC break the tensioner off. not at the studs, but at the engine block. a corner of aluminum was missing from the back of the transmission.
he said it happened when he downshifted for the last turn right before the straightaway
