Evening all..

Getting Ruckus back on the road this spring. I've had the injectors off to RCEngineering to be cleaned, new Bosch Platinums, fresh gas, etc...

I and was playing with the starter button when I noticed the started only clicked and wouldn't rotate the motor any more. Odd, cuz it had just worked. When I turned off the key I also noticed that the upper area of the clutch cable over the instrument cluster was pretty warm to the touch! What's up with that?

Not wanting to burn her to the ground does anyone have any ideas? Clutch cable gets warm with the key on and with the engine both lowered and jacked back up. Kill switch is obviously in run mode and fuel pump is activated/starter has juice. Has to be an electrical short somewhere's. Got me stumped right now.....

Any help is appreciated....and thanks in advance!

steve

If the engine has been lowered and the ground strap is not attached along with the upper stabilizer link the starter will find a ground aka as your clutch cable

Bobbuell1961-

Makes perfect sense. Yup, it's rotated and the ground strap is half dangling in the breeze.

Hopefully the starter will work fine with a better ground when it's all back together proper like. Rebuilt that once already.

My bad....I'll go sit in the corner now.

Thank you-

steve

I hope your cable is ok after trying to be a space heater.
