Hello everyone, I apologize if this has been covered frequently. I need to improve my seat situation on my 05 XB12.

I think I have the 'low' seat but whatever it is my g/f and I can only ride for an hour or so before the pain is unbearable: (

I looked on American Sport Bike as well as buellparts . net and did not find any options. I did however find one on eBay for an 07, will that fit my 05? If in fact I have the 'low'seat I can put a regular seat on correct? (If I can find one?)

I can post up a pic later of the seat if that will help.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Any seat from a standard length Lightning (not the Ss, ST, XT, or Uly) will fit. I've got an Ss, so I can't really tell you what your best option might be.

Every ass is different, the only way to find out what works for you is the hard way. Get some seats, or try an aftermarket one like from Baldwin.

Well thanks guys so far for the reply's! I will check out Baldwin.

As far as buying a 'standard' seat (since I think I have the 'low') are they not being sold anymore? As I said asb or bp.net did not have any available? This seat on eBay looks like it would be way more comfy than what I have now:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ewItem&item=160613205958&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK %3AMEWAX%3AIT

I emailed them to find out if it will fit my 05

So just a quick update from what I found today, the company selling the seat linked above does not know if it will fit my 05. Also I pulled my seat off at lunch and found out that it a 'low' seat # M0076.3AE

Can anyone else help with that eBay linked seat or a oem model number for the 'standard' seat?

Also Froggy, I checked out Baldwin seats, really nice but out of my price range : ( I'm hoping for a used oem or something similiar without the "custom" price tag.

Any seat off any year of S, SL, SCG, SX will work.

The seat in that link is off an SS/STT, and sold for $200 new yet they want a fortune for it.

New OEM seats are available through your dealer, run about $100

The part number on your seat confirms it is the low seat that came on the SL and SCG.

Get yourself a seat from a XB9cx.
They are taller and softer.

Sorry guys, not trying to drag this out further. My search results have left me two options:

Option 1, get the NARROW SKYLINE SEAT M0090.1AC (available and cheap) that should offer more cushion than my 'low' seat.

Option 2 is what I prefer but need help finding something that will fit my bike:

From my understanding this is an SST which will not fit my scg correct? Froggy or anyone else know if this type of seat is available for my bike? The extra rear cushioning for a passenger looks ideal.

Thanks again guys for helping out. Lots of part numbers and options for all these models and hard to sort it all out!

The second one is a long frame and will not fit your bike.

Have you ever looked into Baldwin Seats? They will make it to your specific height within reason

Yeah I looked at them when Froggy mentioned the company, really nice! I'd go that route but its out of my price range unfortunately. Got a new baby and I gotta conserve the funds : )

It sounds like the cushy looking SST seat is not available for mine so I'll prob go the Skyline route and try a pad for the rear section for when the g/f rides along!

I would go to the classifieds section and offer to trade your low seat for a different seat. If you need the bike to have more cushion, you can't go wrong. Just don't trade for another low seat.

I have a used standard seat. It fits my SCG It has a rip, but the cushion is still quite good. I used it for a 5000 mile trip to homecoming. Shoot me a PM. $40

Hmmm...don't mean to hijack but...anyone (Froggy?) have the part number on that second seat, the one on the long frame? If it's seriously around $100, I'd like to replace mine. That looks a lot more cushy for the wife on the back!

And yes, mine is a long frame (2008 XB12 Ss).
