Hello, I am new to the board and Buell's. I have a 2005 XB12SCG that the previous owner chewed up the grips on with his gnarly gloves and left the cushioning rather sticky. The bike has the drop bars and I was looking for something with a bit of comfort for extend rides. Currently it feels like it the throttle is sticky because I can't let it slip in my hand its so sticky! What do you guys recommend? Thanks! Chris |

Some grips literally fall apart and some begin smudging after a while. Buy a new set 7/8ths bar size grips, cut the old off and install the new. I use the old grab-on foam grips but you have a huge selection to choose from. Buy what you like. |

I like the Grab-on foam grips as well. They are a little larger in diameter and seem to fit my hand better. The foam also cushions the vibration. Also, Grab-on makes a grip that is designed to slip over the existing grips. That type may work for you. |

I hate the foam grips (IMHO). I use and love the enduro grips Al sells though (his web site is under maintenance right now, or I'd link directly to it). I have them on the Uly, the KDX-200, and even the KX-60. |

Use this chance to upgrade to some heated grips. |

I have some pro grips that are both foam and rubber that I absolutely love...they are not super thick like some foam grips I have had but to me they are very comfy. I have even ridden with them with out gloves once and most grips i can't stand to hold with out gloves. |

There's a myth about larger, softer grips. Smaller grips are actually better if you have no pre-existing hand conditions. If you are already using ergo aids then bigger might be helpful. However, if you're not using ergo aids, the bigger ones may actually cause discomfort or damage. |
