My wife has been riding my XB9SX as of late. She gets buffeted by the wind somewhat bad. We began to look into a windshield for the bike for her. I found this product http://www.ceebaileys.com/buell/lightningxb9_xb12. html and was wondering if anyone has used it. Does anyone know if they come with the see through blue or if there's something to add to the clear one that would make it look like it belonged on the CityX? |

Palmer Products in the UK make a set of adjustable brackets that let you use a Ulysses windscreen on a Lightning. Requires drilling, but not hard to do.

You can always paint the back side of a clean screen to color it. I think Froggy has the better suggestion though, looks like it is meant to be there. |

I've got one that I install when going on long trips. Works great. Not the best pic, but you get the idea: I chose the clear since it's fairly large and 'disappears' easier. YMMV, Nels |

Oh man, riding at the beach Forerunner? Careful being near salt too much, the previous owner of my bike rode at the beach a lot and now every single nice shiny bolt and screw on my bike turned ugly rusty faded white. |

I have a Laminar lip speed shield. Works pretty well to reduce the pressure, but buffets a little. Easy to remove. http://www.laminarlip.com/xbs.php |

@Blaylock1988 I hear ya. We don't generally ride at the beach as a rule. Was our first ride out to PCH-1 hence all the touring gear. We live in Houston. Nels |

Forerunner, where did your order yours from? That was the one we were looking at, my wife just wants it to come in the same color as the City X Hero Blue. I don't know if it's offered as that. Or maybe someone knows where to get a blue tint. |

@Cataract2 I think it came from 1tail but they don't appear to carry it any longer. I could be completely misremembering but I swear that at the time it was available in other colors although looking at ceebailey's site now they only have clear and the various shades of gray. I don't imagine adding tint or film would be difficult to do. Nels |

I make no claims that this will work on clear acrylics so more google work should be performed!!!!! It also goes without saying that you need to test this on an object made of the same material that you can throw away if it melts!!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nanowe1tG9g |

There was a chick I knew once upon a time, that rode an XB9R Battle Blue. She needed a replacement tail section, she got a white one on the cheap. Used RIT dye (by itself, I wouldn't advise using any acetone) and it turned out real nice, looked kinda like denim. I've seen others do the RIT dye with other color combinations that turned out well, even though the results are hard to predict. |
