Hey guys, I've got a few questions that I hope someone here can help me out with. I've looked all over the web for weeks, and can't seem to get a straight answer. 1. I recently bought a 2009 XB9SX, and it's in beautiful shape. The bike has a race ECM (stamped "For Race Only"). Were there race ECMs made by the old Buell company for the 2009 models, or was this purchased by the previous owner from Erik Buell Racing? If there are multiple ECM versions available for this bike, is there anything that differentiates between the different versions. 2. Can I change the fuel maps on a race ECM, or can you only do this on stock and "programmable" ECMs from Erik Buell Racing? 3. Not sure if this is related or not, but the bike is starting to "cough" a lot more than when I first bought it. My 2003 XB9r does this as well, but not *nearly* as much as the new bike. What (if anything) can I do to reduce — or preferably eliminate — the cough? I really appreciate any help you guys can give me. Thanks! |

Check spark plugs and maybe run some fuel cleaner through the bike. Also check and reset TPS to make sure it is at the proper value. |

timing will fix cough. yes you can tune the ecms. you have three options. 2 free one pay. If you have the ebr 2009 race ecm the free version will void warranty if detected. That is your choice on doing it. free Tunerpro Rt (most ecms cause I chose that way) donation to hospital MONO ecmspy (all ecms) Cost full ebr tuning ecm (ebr full race ecms only) |
