Im trying to do a tps reset, I cant get ecm spy to give me "live" readings. It's almost like it takes a snapshot of the bikes parameters then freezes there. The only time i can get a reading from the bike is when i first connect or when im doing something else with the ecm "fetching eeprom, running diagnostics, etc". otherwise, ecmspy is stuck at the last reading. I hope this made sense. I looked around for some type of refresh interval option within ecmspy but couldnt find anything. It makes a tps reset impossible!   Terrys1980 Posted on Monday, June 13, 2011 - 05:34 pm:        After the TPS reset or fetchin/burning eeprom are you clicking on keys icon to reconnect? I reset the tps and now the bike wont idle. UGH. I'll try and reset it again...   Froggy Posted on Monday, June 13, 2011 - 06:07 pm:        It is important to warm up the bike before doing the TPS reset. Since your not idling, I recommend you raise the idle a bit, take it for a quick spin, then do the TPS reset again.   Burgurboy Posted on Monday, June 13, 2011 - 06:33 pm:        no dice... I tried taking the bike around the block for a quick ride. It coughs and sputters like crazy. I can barely let the clutch out and get moving. Overall the bike is running like trash. I ran it down to the gas station because it was low on gas. I figured that might be the problem... no dice. I still had over a half tank in the bike. could setting the afv to 100% frig it up like this? thats the only other setting i touched   Burgurboy Posted on Monday, June 13, 2011 - 07:14 pm:        aw man. im such a nub. long story short... i didnt turn the idle adjustment screw out enough. to anyone who encounters a crappy-running-bike after a tps reset: be sure to look at the tps voltage value when turning out the idle screw. once the voltage stops droping, turn it out another full turn. THEN reset the tps. my bike is back to normal now. Thanks for the help guys!
