Hello everyone,

I just bought my first buell, an 04 xb12s, was wondering about a new pipe. Wanted to know what ya'll think of Dummer, Hawk, and Spec Ops? Any preferences or warnings?

Thanks

I have the Drummer SS and a regular Drummer. I love them both but there is nothing like the Drummer SS.

I had a Special Ops pipe on my Uly and loved it. This is subjective but I thought it was the best sounding pipe available. Odie does first class work and is a first class guy to work with.

+1 SpecOps ... alot of folks asked about my exhaust shooting right on the rear wheel, but no extra wear or schmutz on the tire to date. Or, the regular SpecOps ... either way, Odie does great work.

It is a bit old, but read the American Sport Bike exhaust shootout, you can learn a bit about our bikes and various pipes. Personally, I love the Micron exhaust, but you can't get it anymore.

terrys1980, i saw that this morning! CRAZY!!! there was a micron that sold for $730 plus shipping a couple weeks ago.

boisexb, you just need to look around. my bike came with a drummer and i absolutely love it. i think the only thing i would want more is a micron. to be completely honest, i don't think i have ever heard anything bad about any of the manufacturers you named.

I have the hawk, I am happy with it. it is the least expensive by far and sounds and performs great. some may make more power but not for the money.

Whatever pipe you get, just do your homework on here first. Consider doing the pipe, breather, ECM all together. You don't have to, but it makes for a balanced upgrade with no unwanted 'side-effects'. There's about a million exhaust threads on here. Start in the Knowledge Vault and have at it.
My 03 Lightning came with K&N, swiss-cheesed breather box, and a Jardine pipe. Some folks have had problems with the Jardine, especially when repacking. But mine is performing well.

I have never heard a bad thing about a Spec Ops.

I have had the Drummer SS on my '08 XB12Ss on for about 5k miles and would not go back to stock.

I sometimes wish it was a bit quieter, but that is what ear plugs are for!

Thanks for the info. Ever heard of vtwintunerconnection.com? Is their way better than a ERB race ECM? They use ecmspy something software which is free?

Running the factory race kit on my XB9 including swiss cheese airbox. Very pleased with this setup, factory race mufflers pop up for sale regularly.
