What's up with the side-mounted exhaust?

Just a guess, EPA noise regs. Full race stainless exhaust, the 2nd can is for additional noise abatement, I _assume_ it can be removed for race venues without noise restrictions at the track.

Just my opinion but these monsters are putting out so much power that they should all be EPA noise restricted, would level the playing field a little bit more. Cycles are just about to the point where someone is going to decide that they are far too dangerous and put intake restrictions on them just like almost every form of four wheeled racing, might as well start with the exhaust and see what happens. If anything it will boost exhaust technology and we will get better exhausts for the street.

There are lots of noise restrictions in England (and Europe as well I suspect), Matt (Trojan) has talked about it before.

Check out the exhausts from Adrenaline Moto, I believe all of them are quiet by our standards, or at least have a "quiet" insert.
Some even have catalytic converters...
