i havent the chance to connect my bike to ecmspy.

I have a copy from ecmspy, and plan to help myself and a person out with mild tuning and tps.

I have made the cable and it connect to the computer, but is unreconized .. "unknown device"

i would think this is not a problem because maybe the buell's ecu does not send out a name.

But I cannot connect my bike to the computer.

I've updated my dell usb drivers, and was told to get a different driver from a site (that i forgot the name of) Ftdichip.com...?

there were two options for drivers, they could not work, its a bit of a headache, im stuck!!!!

is there a checklist for me?

im continuing from this thread
http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/327 77/595512.html

Xopti could you elaborate your last two posts on that thread? or remote assist?

your computer see's your cable correct?

you have a listed comport in the device manager?

select that com as the cable com.

now what version of ecmspy do you have?

If its the ecmspy mono and from the free download thats not going to link at all...

there is many many rs232 devices on the market you can use. each has its own driver.
what brand do you have?

what brand of cable if ready made?

I use Prolific and FDTI only for reliability. Both have their own drivers.

if you need direct assistance in the link. you will need teamviewer.com viewer. (free non commercial version) I can help you set it up then.

rules
year bike 2008 up Tunerpro or ecmspy mono
2007 down tunerpro or Ecmspy Pc version.

basics
neutral, key on,run on... set com port.
ecmspy uses one way tunerpro uses the other. once set and working once it retains the settings.

pm me for help and online live assistance to link the bike.

Jake!!!!
your going to make me pee my pants.

well Laird is gong to pee his pants.

Once I get the bike back together and street inspected it comes back apart. ( just body work, lights, and front assy.)

after that it goes back to race spects.

I needed to get it set to street use for title purposes in fl cause they will not put it into my name unless it passes inspection even though it was built be hand from scratch parts.

always something. After that If i had to sell it I could with title. It could be sold as a street bike or race bike then.

But its not getting sold. lol

Thats my wife diversion.lol

Laird will go fast now...
pic of the bike...
