I had these specifically designed to suit Buell XBs, but they are fairly generic and are a simple fit with many bikes that run H3, H7, H9 and H11 bulbs.

This is my Firebolt on low beam now - the bike has 90 mm Hellas so it is a bit different to stock but shows the effect.



The main features are >20% more power to one bulb and >40% to two bulbs. On a Daytona with an H7 low and an H9 high this gives 44% more light output on low and 67% more on high. The manufacturer measures more forward focused light output with the Twinlight Driver running Philips +50% bulbs than with HID accessory bulbs running in a reflector designed for a Halogen bulb. There are animated images of the differences on the link.

That is without any of the other twinlight features enabled.

There are my settings. The ones I use are:
- Daytime and Low-light modes controlled by a light sensor.
- I have Daytime mode low beam set with high beam at 46% brightness and discrete modulation
- I have Low-light mode set to have the high on at 35% brightness with low beam (in the picture above, high is set to 43% brightness on low beam).
- Both bulbs on full with high beam
- If the low beam bulb fails high automatically comes on at ~50%
- Delayed headlight turn on after the ignition key is switched - saves on bulbs and batteries and makes the bike easier to start.
- I use a Philips +50% as the high bulb to get the same colour effect as the low bulb when the high bulb is running dimmer.

I have one for my Daytona 675,and it make's a huge difference even with the stock bulbs.Make sure if you go to get your bike serviced with this installed,that you mention it to your dealer.They spent several hours trying to get the high beam to turn off.

Tony started out making them for his Daytona as a one over 3 years ago. He posted them up on a Triumph forum and the product was started. He sold hundreds of that Gen 1 version.

Gen 1 was a single channel controller for the high beam only. I started talking to him 3 years ago about a version to suit XBs. We'd sort of nutted out Gen 2 when he decided to abandon because of product liability issues. The famous court case of duel lights on a bike close up looking like a car that was far away. It has since been debunked.

He looked at compliance again and found that an offering with a Modulation option could be configured to be compliant. We went back to Gen 2. He did a production run with connectors for Triumphs and we were just about to do XBs when I told him that they would be much brighter if run through a power harness. He did some tests and found the increase in brightness was huge. With a relay prototype he got 22% more brightness for one bulb running and over 50% for 2 bulbs. (His solid state version delivers more than 40% extra with one bulb and more than 60% extra with 2.)

It has taken a year to redo the design, source the components, work out the wire lengths, but we have it now. The good part about it is that the one for the XB is fairly generic and will fit a lot of other bikes that run bulbs with 1/4" spade terminals.

Anyway it's almost the end of November.
